What is the ACS AuS certificate program?

ACS AuS will provide a certificate confirming that your paper was edited by a subject-matter expert, who is a native English speaker, and assuming all of the changes we proposed are incorporated into the manuscript, is ready for journal submission. This certificate will allow journal editors to feel confident that the English language in your paper has been reviewed and verified.

What will this certificate do for me?

We have created a certificate to inform any journal where you submit your work that your manuscript's use of the English language is up to the required standards. This implies that your paper will already be one step closer to peer review and, ultimately, to publication.

We feel confident that journal editors will benefit from knowing that the language in your paper has been edited and certified.

When submitting your manuscript to a journal, include this certificate as proof that the language in your paper is ready for publication. Please note that this DOES NOT guarantee manuscript acceptance.

NOTE: Since ACS AuS obviously cannot take responsibility for any part of your manuscript we did not edit, any changes you make to your manuscript after our language editing are not covered by the certificate. Therefore, the certificate will have a verification code and website link for the journal editors to verify that the certificate is unique and is being used for the document we edited. Journal editors (and anyone you provide this certificate verification code) will be able to download the version of the manuscript that ACS AuS returned to you.

Do I need to request a certificate or do anything special to have my document evaluated for the certificate?

When you make your submission, you will be asked for the title of your paper and the authors' names to be included on the certificate. This free evaluation of your paper for certificate eligibility will be a part of the high quality language editing service that we provide.

How will I know if I received a certificate?

If your submission received our certification, you will be able to download your certificate directly from your ACS AuS account. It will be available on the 'View submissions' page, along with your edited document and invoice.
